Pronouns - English Grammar Topics

In linguistics and grammar, a pronoun is a word that substitutes for a noun or a nominal sentence. This is a special case of pro-form.

A pronoun (I, I, he, she, herself, you, that, that, they, each, little, many, who, whoever, whose, someone, everyone, etc.) is a word that replaces a name. In the sentence, Joe saw Jill, and he motioned to her, the pronouns he and she taking the place of Joe and Jill, respectively.
